what is there to say about this wedding? it was perfect. the weather was perfect. the backdrop was perfect (at the cator woolfard gardens. how had we not shot at this gorgeous location that is right in town and down the street?!). these two couldn't have been more perfectly natural in front of the camera, which made our job a complete breeze. perfect vibrant bouquets, perfect yummy mac n cheese courtesy of sun in my belly (what? i can't give props to cheese on my blog?), perfect love, perfect music and dancing, perfect.
oh and hey, perfect, thanks for stopping by at this wedding to perfect your already perfect perfection.
well, anna and arthur, you know we'd wish you well, but it's so perfectly obvious that y'all will be happily smooching forever. oh so perfectly. |

| oh my goodness, where to start? there were parasols, blue skies, gingham bow ties, taffy. |

this chicago couple loves charleston, south carolina so much that they brought their family down for an intimate southern wedding. (charleston has always been one of our favorite places on this earth so we were thrilled to head there.)
they rented a huge beach house at wild dunes on isle of palms where the whole family stayed, got married at middleton place (and 18th century plantation), and then absolutely spoiled us and gave us all the time in the world to take portraits of them as we were whisked around in a limo around downtown charleston picking photo spots and sipping champagne (rough life, right?).
david was given the new nickname 'spidey' for climbing over the edge of the battery walls to rescue ali's veil that blew away with a gust of wind. (i mean, uh, kurt did that. yes, kurt. the hero groom! yay!)
this was a no frills wedding--they picked the most beautiful of backdrops and included the people that matter most and said their i dos. what else could matter? they're one of those couples that you feel like have known each other since birth and were just meant for each other. since we were 11 and 12 of the ten guests, we felt like we were old friends by the end of their lovely wedding day.
thanks for including us in such a magnificent, memorable wedding, you two! whenever you renew your vows, we're ready for round two. |

| wild is the wind: jessica + james sneak-peek |

we went to kansas for the first time for one of the most lovely weddings for one of the most lovely couples.
i fell in love with the seas of grain and though my eyes see the world in stills, the waves that came with each gust of that magical wind made me want to capture motion (though i'd oddly never done it before, which explains the imperfections. ahem.).
thanks jessica and james for bringing us to such a beautiful part of this country.
we've got three weddings to post before we share more kansas goodness, so stay tuned... |
