amy and thad's wedding took place on the most beautiful of spring days at the atlanta botanical garden. these two have such a sweetness that radiates from them, and is shared by their friends and family. at one point we had to sneak the sweet couple away from the lines of friends and family into the dark for some portraits. we went into the fuqua orchid center, which was, for lack of better words, completely magical. we tiptoed around monstrous ferns in the dark as the orchids glowed around us and unseen insects chirped.

we had a lot of fun with fion and simon. for one, fion has an infectious laugh and when you ask for her serious face, she laughs even more, which in turn made simon laugh and then both of us laugh. second, they had a lot of cool, creative suggestions for their engagement shoot -- they wanted their clothes to match the scenes, which thrilled us because we love rich, saturated color. third, they are excellent jumpers. we just know their wedding is going to be exquisite.

yesterday i insisted upon david joining forces with me to take a family portrait in honor of our three year smoochiversary. we transformed the living room into a studio, and, with some cat treats and an amazingly obedient dog, we now have a family portrait to hang over our mantel. ...y'know, if we ever get a mantel.

i'd like to formally introduce you to my family: from left to right, kudzu, the really-happy-to-have-her-photo-taken cat, highland, the really-hungry-for-fluffy-black-cats dog, david, the really-cute-and-really-talented photographer, and kelton, the crooked-headed-tailless wondercat. i love my family. -kendrick
